Scientists have estimated exactly when men stop listening to what other people tell them.
When talking a woman is able to hold the average man’s attention for about 6 minutes, his friends are able to do that for about 15 minutes.
Almost 2,000 men took part in the survey and the scientists found out that men are able to listen to their partners only 6 minutes. Those men said that they are least interested in the discussions of colleagues, celebrities, clothing, news from social networks, a lunch menu or horoscopes. Women were slightly more attentive to the partner.
However, both men and women willingly talk to their friends. Men are ready to be actively interested in the subject of the conversation almost 15 minutes.
Sport events, movies or sex life are their favorite topics.
Relationship is the most popular topic for discussion with friends among women. What is also significant is that both men and women are apt to lie or hide information from the partner than from friends.
About a fifth of all men admitted that usually they watch sports channels or surf the net when communicating with a partner on the phone. Men respondents were able to recall at least 4 situations per week when they were not listening to their woman when he clearly should be. Whereas 55% of women reported that they always double-check whether their partners really hear what they are saying.
